Let the cylinder inside the container and upholster the cavity with cotton
Roll each container inside enough bubble wrap and fix it with adhesive tape
Package both inside a box with enough fill material like "packing chips"
That the containers have no place to move and are protected against proposals
Mark on the package and write on the delivery note that the cylinders are historical and therefore very fragile

Example: Please open and handle very carefully. Historical cylinders are very fragile and cannot repaired if broken (irreplaceable destroyed)
